This e-newsletter is produced by a consortium including the State Children’s Medical Services Branch, Family Voices of California, the Los Angeles Partnership for Special Needs Children, CRISS, and USC University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. This consortium shares the common goal of working toward improving systems of care for children with special health care needs in California.

American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is an organization of 60,000 pediatricians committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. The site provides general information related to child health and specific guidelines on pediatric issues.
California Children with Special Health Care Needs (CA CSHCN) this website provides information to parents and professionals to assist them in caring for children and youth with special health care needs. Resources, referrals, and condition-specific information are presented, as well as information about concepts common to the care of these children.
Family Voices of California (FVCA) (FVCA) is a statewide grassroots clearinghouse for information and education about ways to assure and improve health care for children with disabilities and chronic conditions. The FVCA Council is made up agencies from across the state that represents urban, suburban and rural areas in 36 counties.
Support for Families of Children with Disabilities is a parent-run San Francisco-based nonprofit organization founded in 1982 which supports families of children with any kind of disability or special health care need as they face challenges.
Family Resource Centers Directory provides contact information for Family Resource Centers in California. The FRCs support families of children with disabilities, special health care needs, and those at risk. They work closely with local community agencies, interagency councils, and other organizations within their area; provide parent-to-parent support, information dissemination and referral, family-professional collaboration activities, and transition assistance for families; and contribute to public awareness and outreach efforts associated with the early intervention services in their community.
Regional Centers Directory provides contact information for all 21 Regional Centers in the state. Regional centers are community based, nonprofit private corporations that contract with the Department of Developmental Services to provide or coordinate services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities.
